Firefighters are currently tackling a major warehouse fire on the Essex-Hertfordshire border in Stubbins Hall Lane, Nazeing. Emergency services were called to the scene at 11am, and efforts to contain the blaze are ongoing.
Emergency Response
Multiple fire crews have been deployed, including teams from Waltham Abbey, Loughton, Epping, Harlow, and Cheshunt, as well as Hertford (Hertfordshire) and Enfield (London). Specialist equipment, including an Aerial Ladder Platform from Grays, a Water Bowser from Corringham, and an Incident Command Unit from Witham, is also being used.
Group Manager Mark Eaglestone confirmed that three industrial units are fully engulfed in flames. He said:
“Crews are making good progress, but we expect to be here for several hours. We are working closely with the Environment Agency to protect the water course and with Essex Police, who have closed a number of roads in the area.

Due to the significant amount of smoke being produced by the fire, residents in the vicinity are being urged to:
- Keep windows and doors closed to avoid smoke inhalation.
- Stay away from the area to allow emergency services to carry out their work without disruption.
Road Closures
Essex Police have closed multiple roads around Stubbins Hall Lane to facilitate the emergency response. Drivers are advised to plan alternative routes and avoid the area.
