Met Police Sergeant Charged with Shocking Sexual Offences

A serving Met Police officer has been hit with multiple sexual assault charges involving three men and a woman. PS Lee Symons, suspended since December 2022, faces serious allegations spanning more than a decade.

PS Lee Symons Faces Multiple Sex Crime Charges

Detective Sergeant Symons, 48, stationed at the West Area Command Unit, was formally charged on 23 December 2024. He faces assault by penetration and five counts of sexual assault by touching linked to incidents between 2012 and 2018 against one male victim.

On top of that, Symons is charged with five further counts of sexual assault by touching from alleged episodes between 2009 and 2021. Three charges relate to another man, while two involve a female victim. All victims are understood to have known the officer personally.

Authorities React as Court Date Looms

Symons is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 27 January 2025.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “The alleged offences are extremely serious and will be dealt with through the criminal justice system. PS Symons has been suspended since December 2022, and we are fully cooperating with the ongoing legal process.”
