A 21-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious knife assault in Gillingham.
Kent Police were called to a residential property in the town at around 2:25pm on Saturday, 25 January 2025, after reports of an attack. Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene, where a man in his late teens was found with injuries consistent with stab wounds. The victim was promptly taken to a London hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
A suspect, known to the victim, was arrested at the scene and later charged with attempted murder.
Jamie Goodege, of Fourth Avenue, Gillingham, was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 27 January 2025.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the assault is ongoing. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
