Manhunt Underway for Renaldo Roberts in Hackney Murder Probe

Fatal Stabbing Shakes Hackney

Police are on the hunt for 25-year-old Renaldo Roberts, wanted for questioning over the brutal stabbing of 20-year-old Jason Romeo. The deadly attack took place outside a property on Bodney Street, E5, at around 6pm on Tuesday, 18 February.

Three Men Charged, One Still Sought

So far, three men aged 21 and 22 have been charged in connection with the murder. Raynolph Asante, Travis Mitchell, and Rhamyah Bailey-Edwards all appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on 24 February. An 18-year-old suspect was also arrested on 23 February and remains in custody. Meanwhile, officers have released a photo of Roberts, whose links span Hackney and Dagenham, and they urgently want to speak to him.

Detective Superintendent Kelly Allen said: “This investigation has moved quickly with officers arresting four men within five days. We are now in the position to release Renaldo Roberts’ details, who we would like to speak with to assist with our enquiries.”

“If you have any information on his whereabouts, please do not approach him and call 999 referencing CAD 5635/18FEB.”

Police Ratchet Up Patrols Amid Growing Tension

In response to Jason’s death, police boosted their presence in the area. A Section 60 order came into effect over the weekend, allowing officers to stop and search anyone without needing suspicion.

Detective Superintendent Vicky Tunstall said: “We understand the increased police presence in Hackney this week will be concerning for residents. Our officers will remain in the area carrying out increased patrols.”

“Reducing knife crime is a key focus and we will continue to work closely with partners for a safe borough.”

Call for Information: Help Catch Renaldo Roberts

Residents with any information about Renaldo Roberts or the murder investigation are urged to call 999 immediately. Do not approach Roberts yourself.
