Tragic Crash on A299 Claims Life of Football Star Marshall Spelzini

Friends and family are left heartbroken after Marshall Spelzini was killed in a horrific crash on the A299 Thanet Way. The young footballer died when the lorry he was in smashed into a stationary road sweeper near St Nicholas-at-Wade on Tuesday night, February 25.

Emergency services rushed to the scene but tragically, Marshall was pronounced dead at once.

Football Community Mourns “Big Character” and Fan Favourite

Marshall was no stranger to the east Kent football scene. He played for Dover Rangers FC, Dover Town Wanderers, and Betteshanger FC before returning to his beloved boyhood squad, Cinque Ports FC.

Dover Rangers FC shared a heartfelt message: “His infectious smile and cheeky personality will certainly be missed by all. We are a squad full of heavy, broken hearts.”

Cinque Ports FC added: “Marshall was loved by all that knew him and he will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends, family, and partner Maisie, as well as the lads at Dover Rangers FC.”

Devastated Loved Ones Pay Touching Tributes

Marshall’s girlfriend’s mother, Joanne Wall, broke down in grief, saying: “The best son-in-law I can only ever dream of having. Our house is not the same without you here. You will never leave our hearts.”

Close friend David Stapley added: “His death is a massive loss, not just for football but also as a human being.”

Police Launch Investigation – Appeal for Witnesses

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is probing the fatal crash and urges anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
