Teenager Hospitalised After Stabbing Incident

 

A 19-year-old woman has been charged following a serious stabbing incident in Sittingbourne that left a teenage male hospitalised in a serious condition.

Emergency services were called to Rectory Road shortly after midnight on Thursday, 27 February, where they found the victim suffering from an injury consistent with a stab wound.

Emergency Response and Arrest

Officers from Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene, and the victim, who is in his late teens, was treated before being airlifted to a London hospital. He remains in a serious but stable condition.

Later that morning, officers arrested Leah Scantlebury, 19, of Commonwealth Close, Sittingbourne, in connection with the attack. She was taken into police custody and subsequently charged with wounding with intent.

Scantlebury was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court today (Friday, 28 February).

Appeal for Witnesses and CCTV Footage

Kent Police are continuing their investigation and are urging any witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers to come forward.

They are also appealing for dashcam footage from drivers who may have been in the area, as well as CCTV footage from nearby residents that may have captured relevant evidence.
