A woman has tragically died after being crushed by a lorry in Hackney, East London earlier this morning.
Road Closures & Travel Disruptions
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 10:50 AM on Mare Street, leading to the road being closed between Morning Lane and the A1207 Graham Road.
As a result of the serious incident, multiple bus routes have been diverted, including:
- 30, 38, 55, 106, 242, 253, 254, 276, and 277

Emergency Response & Investigation
Emergency services, including the Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, and London Fire Brigade, rushed to the scene.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision. Authorities are urging witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
A Metropolitan Police source confirmed:
“Officers were called at approximately 10:50 AM following reports of a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian. Tragically, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The lorry driver stopped and is assisting with our enquiries.”

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at about 11:00hrs on Monday, 3 March to reports of a lorry in collision with a pedestrian on Mare Street in Hackney. Emergency services attended.
“Despite the efforts of officers and paramedics, sadly the female pedestrian died at the scene. Road closures are in place and enquiries continue.”
Drivers are experiencing congestion to London Fields and nearby Amhurst Road. Many roads are being diverted through Lower Clapton and Homerton.
