First Glimpse: East Farleigh Man Charged with Murder of Maidstone Dad
Kent Police have charged a man with murder following the tragic death of a Maidstone father.
Fatal Incident in Maidstone
Police were called to a home on Cambridge Crescent at 9.13pm on Monday, 4 May 2020. Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service arrived and found Jamie Simmons deceased at the scene.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
At 9.38pm, officers arrested 29-year-old Kieron Nicholson of Vicarage Road, East Farleigh. The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate launched an investigation immediately after.
On Wednesday, 6 May, the Crown Prosecution Service formally charged Nicholson with murder. He is currently remanded in custody and due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court.
Other Arrests and Ongoing Investigation
- A 29-year-old Maidstone man, also arrested on suspicion of murder, has been bailed until 2 June.
- A woman in her 20s from Tonbridge, initially arrested in relation to the case, has been released while investigations continue.
