Channel 4 Dives ‘In Too Deep’ with Gritty New Crime Series
Channel 4 has launched a bold new digital strand, In Too Deep, sending a squad of fearless young journalists into the darkest corners of crime and exploitation. This hard-hitting series uses a mix of jaw-dropping footage and hidden camera stings to expose underground villains and shocking secrets you won’t see anywhere else.
First Film Shocks: ‘Selling My Virginity’
The flagship episode, “Selling My Virginity”, produced by Dare Pictures, follows presenter Daisy Maskell as she investigates the disturbing world of online virginity auctions. Viewers will witness men bidding hundreds of thousands of pounds to claim a young woman’s virginity, revealing a twisted and lucrative trade hidden online.
Daisy Maskell said, “With Channel 4’s incredible backing, I’ve made a provocative and immersive film. This issue is glamorised on social media as a ‘get rich quick’ scheme, and I fear many young people fall into it unaware of the consequences.”
Channel 4 Voices: Unflinching Journalism at its Best
Thomas Pullen, Channel 4’s Digital Commissioning Executive, called In Too Deep “can’t look away journalism” that exposes uncomfortable truths. He added, This series is a major part of our digital strategy, promising more dives into murky worlds hidden in plain sight.”
Laura Marks, Digital Commissioning Editor, said the strand aims to spotlight fresh journalistic talent: “We know there’s incredible talent out there, and this strand gives us the chance to find it.”
When and Where to Watch
Selling My Virginity is set to air on Monday 9th October at 5pm on the Channel 4 Documentaries 1 page. The series promises gripping, immersive stories that pull no punches.
