Swale Sex Offender Swiftly Convicted After Sending Explicit Messages to Girls

A sex offender from the Isle of Sheppey has been swiftly convicted following a Kent Police investigation into sexually explicit messages sent to young girls via a messaging app.

Oscar Robinson, 35, of no fixed address, admitted sending unsolicited sexualised messages and a video in which he exposed himself, on Saturday, 15 March 2025.

Police were called to an address in Queenborough around 5:30pm, after concerned parents were alerted to disturbing content received by their children.

Following urgent enquiries, officers tracked down and arrested Robinson in the Ridham Avenue area of Kemsley on Sunday, 16 March. He was later charged with engaging in sexual communication with a child.

Robinson appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 18 March, where he pleaded guilty to the offence.

Police Praise Victims’ Courage

Detective Constable Jodie Rowson, who led the investigation, praised the bravery of those who came forward:

“Predatory behaviour such as that displayed by Robinson can have a significant impact on victims, and I would like to praise the courage of the girls in this case for coming forward.
I urge all victims of sexual grooming to report incidents to police, so that they can be fully investigated and perpetrators can be brought before the courts to face justice.”

Sentencing Set for May

Robinson is currently remanded and is due to be sentenced on Friday, 9 May.

Kent Police continue to encourage parents to monitor their children’s online activity and report any suspicious or inappropriate communication to authorities without delay.

Anyone with concerns or information relating to similar incidents is urged to contact Kent Police or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
