Murder investigation launched after fatal stabbing outside Brixton KFC
Deadly attack shocks Brixton Road
A deadly stabbing outside a KFC restaurant on Brixton Road, SW9, has sparked a full-scale murder investigation. Police were called to the scene at around 5:10am on Thursday, 20 March, after reports of a man stabbed multiple times.
Despite the urgent response from the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service crews, the victim — believed to be a man in his 30s — was pronounced dead at the scene.
Arrest made as detectives hunt for answers
Officers arrested a man at the scene on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody while detectives continue piecing together what led to the fatal attack. A crime scene is still in place as the investigation unfolds.
The victim’s next of kin have been informed.
Police appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “A murder investigation is under way following the stabbing of a man in Brixton Road, SW9. Officers responded at around 05:10hrs on Thursday, 20 March. A man in his 30s was found with stab wounds and, sadly, was pronounced dead at the scene. One man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. A crime scene remains in place as investigations continue.”
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to step forward.
