A grieving family has paid heartbreaking tribute to 20-year-old Billy, who tragically died after being struck by a train on Sunday, March 24.

Billy, described by his sister as “so lovely, caring and with the biggest smile,” was pronounced dead at the scene following the incident. His devastated family is now raising funds to give him the “best send-off” possible, saying he “didn’t deserve to be taken” so young.
In an emotional tribute shared publicly, Billy’s sister wrote:
“Unfortunately, on the 24th of March 2025 we received the worst news ever. My baby brother was struck by a train and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was only 20 – still a baby.
“He was such a loved boy, so lovely and caring, and had the biggest smile. He would do anything for anyone.
“We’ve lost the biggest part of our life. We are now left completely in shock and heartbroken. We are absolutely shattered and can’t make any sense of why this has happened.”
The family has launched a fundraising page to help cover funeral costs, urging the public to support their efforts in giving Billy a farewell he deserves. “Please can you donate anything to give our Billy boy the best send-off – he deserves the world,” the tribute continues.
Billy’s death has sent shockwaves through the community, with friends and loved ones sharing their condolences and memories online. Messages have poured in across social media, with many describing him as “the kindest soul,” “a true friend,” and someone who “always lit up the room.”
British Transport Police confirmed that officers were called to the scene and that the incident is not being treated as suspicious. A file is being prepared for the coroner.
