Manhunt On for Drug Suspect Who Fled Hospital

Police are in hot pursuit of 27-year-old Harri Pullen after he slipped away from hospital custody. The former inmate vanished from Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran on March 26, just hours after being arrested for suspected Class A drug dealing.

Last seen at around 3:45pm, Pullen made his escape from the hospital car park when a mystery driver in a black Vauxhall Insignia picked him up. The Gwent Police have launched a major appeal to track him down.

Scandalous Prison Romance Headlines

Pullen’s name first hit the headlines when his prison antics came to light—particularly his illicit relationships with staff inside the walls. While imprisoned, he had an “inappropriate” affair with prison nurse Elyse Hibbs, 27, and repeatedly bombarded prison officer Ruth Shmylo, 26, with love calls.

  • Hibbs was jailed for six months after admitting to flirtatious phone calls with Pullen and suspended from nursing for a year, claiming she was pressured into the relationship.
  • Shmylo faced accusations of a five-month relationship but was cleared of wrongdoing after saying she feared reporting the calls.

A Dangerous, Manipulative Criminal

Court documents label Pullen as “particularly manipulative.” Both women involved said they felt bullied and coerced. Shockingly, Pullen even threatened Shmylo’s family and pets when she tried to cut contact.

Police Urge Public to Stay Alert

Four women aged 28 to 58 have been arrested on suspicion of helping Pullen escape. One has since been released on bail; the others remain in custody.

“Harri Pullen is wanted in connection with his escape from custody and suspected drug crimes. Do not approach him. If you see him or know where he is, contact us immediately,” said a Gwent Police spokesperson.

Authorities are especially worried about Pullen’s risk to women, with new victims coming forward since his bold escape.
