A man has been convicted following a series of attempted burglaries and thefts in Crawley Down, Sussex Police have confirmed.
Tony Cooper, 32, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged in connection with a spate of criminal activity in the Bowers Place area during the early hours of Friday, 22 March.
Cooper faced multiple charges, including:
Four counts of attempted burglary
Three counts of theft from a vehicle
One count of fraud by false representation
He appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 26 March, where he pleaded guilty to all charges. Cooper was remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court on 23 April.
Ongoing Investigation
The investigation remains active, and police have also arrested two other individuals in connection with the incidents:
A 39-year-old man from Bognor Regis, released on conditional bail until 2 April
A 23-year-old man from Croydon, released on conditional bail until 21 June
Sussex Police said officers have been working hard to investigate known offenders and take swift action in response to community reports of burglary.
