Massive Wage Hike from April 2025

From 1 April 2025, millions of UK workers face a pay boost after National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage rates shot up. The National Living Wage for those aged 21 and over is now a hefty £12.21 an hour, a major jump announced in the Autumn Budget.

Employers must pay the new rates, but workers are warned to double-check their pay slips. Don’t just trust your boss—use the government’s official calculator to confirm you’re getting what you deserve.

Who Gets What? Check Your New Rate

  • £12.21 per hour – Workers aged 21 and over (National Living Wage)
  • £10.00 per hour – Workers aged 18 to 20
  • £7.55 per hour – Under-18s and apprentices

Apprentices:

  • If under 19, or 19+ but in the first year of apprenticeship, you get the apprentice rate.
  • Completed your first year and are 19+? You’re entitled to the minimum wage for your age.
