Six Arrested as Murder Investigation Launched Following Fatal Stabbing in Walworth

A murder investigation is under way after a 21-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Walworth, South London, on Monday night.

Police were called at 9:16pm on 14 April to Hillingdon Street, SE17, following reports of a stabbing. Officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics rushed to the scene, where they found the young man suffering from serious stab wounds.

Despite the best efforts of emergency crews, the victim was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Efforts are currently ongoing to formally identify him and inform his next of kin.

Six Arrested in Connection with the Killing

Police confirmed that six people – five men and one woman, all in their 20s – have been arrested on suspicion of murder. All six remain in custody while detectives continue their investigation.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

A number of crime scenes remain in place as police work to piece together the circumstances surrounding the attack.

 


Borough Commander Emma Bond, who leads policing in Southwark, said:

“We understand this news is both shocking and unsettling to the community. Our investigations continue, and there will be an increased police presence in the area.

“I would also like to appeal to the public for information. Please, if you saw, heard or have any footage following last night’s incident then please come forward. Your information can significantly help our detectives.”

Increased Police Presence and Community Support

Local residents have been urged to speak to police officers on patrol if they have concerns or need support in the wake of the tragedy. Police have assured the public that they are doing everything possible to bring those responsible to justice.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Met Police on 101, quoting reference CAD 7392/14APR. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
