Walworth Stabbing Victim Named as Giovanny Rendon Bedoya, 21

Detectives have identified the victim of a fatal stabbing in Walworth as Giovanny Rendon Bedoya, aged 21. The deadly attack happened on Monday evening, sparking a murder investigation.

Tragic Scene on Hillingdon Street

Police were called at 9:16pm on Monday, 14 April, after reports of a stabbing on Hillingdon Street, SE17. Officers arrived alongside the London Ambulance Service to find Giovanny with serious stab wounds. Despite urgent treatment, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Appeal for Witnesses as Three Remain on Bail

Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn, leading the inquiry, confirmed Giovanny’s identity and appealed for witnesses.

“On arrival, officers found a 21-year-old man with serious stab injuries. He was treated by the London Ambulance Service but sadly died at the scene,” said DCI Blackburn.

“Giovanny Rendon Bedoya was from Walworth. His family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.”

DCI Blackburn revealed police received multiple 999 calls describing several people carrying knives in the area.

“We believe many witnesses have not come forward. If you saw, heard, or have footage, please get in touch. Your information could be crucial,” she added.

Six people were arrested after the stabbing. Three have been released with no further action, while three remain on bail as inquiries continue.

Police Boost Patrols Following Fatal Attack

Detective Superintendent Emma Bond, Acting BCU Commander for Lambeth and Southwark, addressed community concerns.

“We are working around the clock to catch those responsible and bring them to justice,” she said. “Expect to see more officers patrolling the area. If you have concerns, speak to them—we are here to help.”
