Tragic Crash Claims Life in Reading
A 20-year-old man has died following a shocking crash involving a Land Rover Discovery that reportedly lost control in a car park near Winnersh Triangle Park and Ride on the night of Thursday, April 16.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene just after 10pm, but despite their best efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Thames Valley Police confirmed the family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers.
Second Man Arrested Over Deadly Crash
A second 20-year-old man from Barnet has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody as the investigation presses on.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Detective Sergeant Darren Brown, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:
“This appears to have been a single-vehicle collision, and very sadly, a man has died. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man at this extremely upsetting time.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the incident or who has dashcam footage from the area at the time to please come forward and assist with our investigation.”
The crash happened in the busy Winnersh Triangle park and ride car park, a hotspot for commuters around Reading.
