Emergency services have rushed to the scene on Chiswick High Road after a person became trapped beneath a digger that reportedly fell from a lorry earlier today.
The incident occurred at around midday, when the heavy machinery toppled during unloading or transport and pinned an individual between the digger and the ground.
London Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police are en route, with ambulance crews already dispatched to provide urgent medical support. Witnesses described a scene of chaos, with traffic halted and bystanders visibly shaken.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed:
“We were called at 11.26am this morning (Tuesday 22 April) to reports of an injured person in Chiswick High Road, Chiswick.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and a member of our Tactical Response Unit.
“Our crews treated a man at the scene, before taking him to a London major trauma centre, as a priority.”
The Metropolitan Police have also issued a statement saying they are aware of the incident and are assisting with traffic control and ensuring the area is safe for responders.
The condition of the trapped individual is not yet known, and roads surrounding Chiswick High Road are experiencing significant disruption as emergency crews continue their operation.
