Leo Ross fatally stabbed in Birmingham park
Leo Ross, just 12, was stabbed to death while walking home through a park in Hall Green, Birmingham, on the afternoon of 21 January 2025. Emergency services rushed to the scene but could not save him.
Teen arrested and charged faces multiple accusations
A teenage boy, who cannot be named due to his age, is charged with Leo’s murder. He has been remanded in custody as the investigation presses on.
Besides murder, he faces several serious charges, including:
- Possession of a bladed weapon
- Assault on a woman on 22 October 2024
- Two serious assaults on a woman on 19 & 20 January 2025
- Another assault on a woman on 21 January 2025, the day Leo was killed

Friends and family remember Leo as a kind, gentle boy who loved football and dreamed of becoming a vet. The killing has sent shockwaves through the West Midlands.
Police urge witnesses to come forward
West Midlands Police have stepped up patrols and are appealing for anyone with information about the stabbing or related assaults to get in touch. The teenager is due back in court later this spring.
