A teenage boy has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car on Crayford Way this afternoon.
Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and the London Air Ambulance, were called to the scene at around 4.45pm following reports of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that officers were called by the London Ambulance Service and attended the incident promptly. The teenage boy was treated at the scene before being airlifted to King’s College Hospital in central London.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:
“Police are currently on scene of a collision on Crayford Way, Crayford. Officers were called by the London Ambulance Service at 16:45hrs on Friday, 6 June following reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a teenage boy, has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. A closure remains in place at the location.”
Crayford Way remains closed in both directions while investigations are carried out, and commuters are being advised to avoid the area.
Witnesses reported seeing an air ambulance land near the scene shortly after the crash, drawing attention from residents and passersby.
The London Ambulance Service has been approached for further comment.
