Burglar Caught by DNA After Raiding Surrey and Hampshire Homes
A 29-year-old man has been slapped with a three-year prison sentence following a string of high-value burglaries across Surrey and Hampshire. Eris Tivari, born 5 June 1996, was nailed thanks to forensic DNA linking him directly to multiple crime scenes.
Heist of Family Heirlooms and War Medals
Tivari’s crimes date back to last year, with his first known burglary on 3 March 2025 in Surrey. He struck again in Hampshire before finally being caught. Precious items like family heirlooms and irreplaceable war medals were stolen, leaving victims devastated.
The court appearances for Tivari took place at Kingston Crown Court, where on 15 July 2025, he was sentenced to three years behind bars.
Forensic Evidence Cracks the Case
A police spokesperson said:
“This case highlights the critical role forensic evidence plays in solving crimes and securing convictions. Despite his attempts to evade identification, Tivari’s DNA ultimately helped us bring justice to the victims.”
Officers hope this conviction offers some closure, especially for those who lost treasured, sentimental possessions during the break-ins.
