Officer Stabbed in Bold Harbour Attack
A 31-year-old man is now facing attempted murder charges after a police officer was stabbed during a shocking early-morning incident at Greenock’s East India Harbour. The attack happened just after 2:00am on Sunday. The injured officer was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. Thankfully, he has since been discharged and is recovering at home.
Suspect’s Daring Escape Ends in Arrest
After the stabbing, the suspect fled the scene in a dinghy, triggering a fast-paced manhunt. Police caught him at Rhu Marina near Helensburgh later that same morning. He has been charged with attempted murder and resisting arrest. He is set to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court today.
