Deputy Chief Constable Slams Thorn’s ‘Flagrant Breach’
“PC Thorn significantly abused his position as a police officer by making contact with a vulnerable woman he met on duty and then going on to pursue a sexual relationship with her,” said Deputy Chief Constable Paul Mills.
“He further betrayed public trust by illegally accessing police computer systems to obtain personal data, which he passed on to the woman.”
“His actions were not only illegal but a sustained, flagrant breach of police standards.”
Wiltshire Police Vow Tough Action to Protect Public Trust
PC Thorn was immediately arrested and suspended once allegations emerged. The case was referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
Wiltshire Police stressed there is no place for officers like Thorn in the service. They reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the highest professional standards and urged anyone with concerns to come forward promptly.
