Brandon Blackstock, ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson, dies aged 48 after private cancer battle
Tragic Loss of Talent Manager Brandon Blackstock
Brandon Blackstock, best known as the former husband of pop star and TV host Kelly Clarkson, has died aged 48. The talent manager lost his private three-year fight with cancer, a family spokesperson confirmed to People magazine.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,” the representative said. “Brandon bravely battled cancer for three years.”
Family and Personal Life
Blackstock leaves behind four children — two with Clarkson, River Rose, 11, and Remington Alexander, 9, as well as two from a previous relationship. His death comes just a day after Clarkson revealed he was seriously ill and announced she was postponing her Las Vegas residency to support their kids.
The couple tied the knot in 2013 and divorced in 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage. Despite their split, they remained committed to co-parenting their children amicably.
Behind the Scenes of Music Management
Brandon was a veteran music manager, handling big-name clients including his ex-wife Kelly Clarkson. He also worked closely with artists connected to his father, Narvel Blackstock, a well-known country music manager.
