House Destroyed in Suspected Arson Attack in Marden
Detectives have launched a probe after a house in Marden was gutted in a suspected arson attack in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Fire Erupts at Vacant Property on Battle Lane
Emergency services were called at around 12:40am on 20 August following reports of a fire at a vacant property on Battle Lane. The blaze quickly spread to nearby outbuildings, prompting multiple crews from the Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) to battle the flames for several hours before gaining control.
Police also attended the scene to assist with safety and manage traffic. Luckily, no injuries were reported.
Investigation Underway as Kent Police Treat Blaze as Suspicious
The unoccupied property has been left severely damaged. Kent Police confirmed the fire is being treated as suspicious with detectives from West Kent CID leading the investigation.
“We are working closely with fire investigators to establish the circumstances of the blaze. At this stage, it is believed to have been started deliberately, and we are appealing for anyone who was in the area overnight or who has information to come forward.”
