Fifth Man Busted for Giovanny Rendon Bedoya’s Fatal Stabbing
A fifth suspect has been charged with the brutal murder of 21-year-old Giovanny Rendon Bedoya, who was fatally stabbed in Walworth earlier this year.
Christian Batista-Gonzalez, 22, with no fixed address, was arrested near Barcelona, Spain, on Monday 19 May on suspicion of murder. He was extradited to the UK on Monday 19 August and immediately charged with murder.
Batista-Gonzalez appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 20 August, where he was remanded in custody. He is set to face the Old Bailey on Friday 22 August.
Deadly Stabbing on Hillingdon Street
The horrific incident unfolded at 9.16pm on Monday 14 April on Hillingdon Street, SE17, when police were called following reports of a stabbing.
Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service, arrived swiftly but young Giovanny was found with severe stab wounds and tragically declared dead at the scene.
Family Left Devastated, Supported by Police
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that Giovanny’s family have been notified and are receiving specialist support as the investigation continues.
This latest arrest brings the total number of men charged in connection with Giovanny’s killing to five, raising hopes justice will soon be served.
