Man Dies After Bizarre Police Incident on Thames Way

Warrington man Bryan, 36, tragically died at Valley Hospital on September 12. He was rushed there from a Kent police station following a shocking incident on Thames Way.

Police were called just after 1pm when Bryan was seen running into traffic and smashing a car window. Officers arrived fast, handcuffed him, strapped on leg restraints, and loaded him into a police van.

Health Plummets After Custody, CPR Fails

Shortly after being placed in custody, Bryan’s condition suddenly worsened. Officers rushed him back to the van and sped to hospital. Despite CPR efforts by police and medical staff, he was pronounced dead around 2.35pm.

IOPC Launches Investigation Into Police Handling

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has launched a probe into the incident and Kent Police’s response. They have secured hospital CCTV and officer bodycam footage. All officers involved are being treated as witnesses as the investigation continues.
