Police are hunting witnesses after a deadly car crash in Tottenham during a high-speed police chase.
Deadly Crash After Police Pursuit in Tottenham
Just before 1am on Friday, 3 October, Met officers tried to stop a vehicle on Pretoria Road, N18. After a 60-second chase, the car vanished from view.
Officers later found the wrecked car on The Roundway, N17. Emergency crews rushed in, but a 19-year-old passenger suffered fatal injuries and died soon after reaching hospital.
Driver Arrested Over Deadly Police Chase
The 19-year-old driver was arrested at the scene, charged with failure to stop and dangerous driving. He remains in police custody as inquiries continue. Luckily, no one else was hurt.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards and the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) have been alerted. Police urge anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward.
