Cruel Thieves Ransacked her home And Steal Late Mothers Ashes

A Paulsgrove woman has been left heartbroken after cruel thieves have ransacked her home and stole her late mother’s ashes. The woman who we are not naming home in Deerhurst Crescent was burgled late yesterday afternoon but the burglary became even more devastating after the family realised the box containing a crystal had been taken in the raid. The woman had the ashes of late mother put into the crystal. Speaking from her Paulsgrove home she said: “I’m devastated I’m appealing for that person to have the decency to return the ashes ” Explaining what may possess someone to take something so personal, the grief-stricken mum said: “It was a in a cardboard box so perhaps they thought it was something valuable –which, of course, it is to us, but to them it’s useless.” Along with the ashes, the burglars stole other house hold item and jewellery in the raid. Entry was gained via the rear UPVC door, which is thought to have been kicked in. Items of sentimental value were stolen, including jewellery and a heart-shaped crystal containing ashes of a family member. These items are irreplaceable. The jewellery stolen includes: a man’s Armani watch; a woman’s Armani watch; a Tiffany ring; Tiffany earrings; a Swarovski ring; a diamond bracelet and a charm bracelet. Police would like to hear from anyone who saw anyone acting suspicious in the area around the time of the burglary, or anyone who is offered this jewellery for sale. Police are appealing for information on the burglary and have said it was likely passers-by saw the fleeing raiders Anyone with information is asked to contact Hampshire Police on 101.
