Trio Jailed for Brazen London Burglaries That Stole Ashes of Two Babies

Three men have been caught and convicted for stealing hundreds of items from homes across London – including a heartbreaking haul of the ashes of two children.

Shocking Theft of Children’s Ashes

Marcin Lipiec, 37, Daniel Majewski, 26, and Piotr Pawlark, 32, all from Whitton, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit burglary at Kingston Crown Court. Their sentencing is set for 11 May.

One of their most chilling crimes was the theft on 11 December 2017 in Richmond, where they stole a maroon box containing the ashes of twins who died at birth, alongside jewellery. The family was left devastated.

Suspicious VW Passat Leads Police to Crime Spree

The break in was busted after a tip-off about a suspicious gold VW Passat driving slowly in SW14. Officers tracked the car back to the suspects’ home on Wills Crescent where they heard banging from inside the property.

Police found a large safe badly damaged from burglary attempts and recovered the stolen items, including passports, bank cards, and laptops.

Over 400 Stolen Items Recovered

During a search, police seized more than 400 stolen belongings and burglary tools like crowbars and gloves. The recovered items linked the trio to eight burglaries around London, spanning Richmond, Isleworth, Twickenham, Hounslow, and more between November and December 2017.

Detectives Praise Public Help in Cracking Case

“Lipiec, Majewski and Pawlark are prolific burglars who caused misery across London,” said PC Jamie Oprey of Richmond and Kingston CID. “Thanks to brilliant detective work and a vigilant public, we linked them to eight raids and returned hundreds of stolen items, including the children’s ashes.”

“This case shows how vital it is to report suspicious behaviour – it made all the difference.”

The three men face jail for their heartless crime spree that left families shattered. The sentencing hearing will finally bring them to justice.
