Man Jailed for 13 Years After Brutal Attack on Ex-Wife
A Croydon man has been locked up for 13 years after a terrifying attack on his ex-partner. Racine Ndiaye, 43, was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court on Friday, 4 May, for a violent home invasion that left his former partner seriously injured.
Horrific Home Invasion and Assault
On 21 November 2017, Ndiaye first threatened his ex through her front door, shouting he would kill her. She feared for her life and called police, but Ndiaye fled before officers arrived.
Hours later, Ndiaye returned, broke in through a window, grabbed a kitchen knife, and chased the woman upstairs. She locked herself in the bathroom and tried to escape by climbing out the window.
Ndiaye kicked down the door, seized her as she dangled from the window ledge, causing her to fall and break her ankle. He didn’t stop there – he then brutally punched and kicked her outside, ignoring bystanders’ attempts to intervene.
Justice Served After Shocking Attack
- Ndiaye fled the scene but was caught and charged the same day
- Victim suffered significant facial injuries and a broken ankle
- Found guilty of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, burglary, and assault
Detective Constable Milo Horvath of Croydon CID said: “This lengthy sentence reflects how seriously police and the courts take vicious attacks such as this. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure violent individuals such as Ndiaye are placed before the courts.”
Ndiaye was also slapped with a restraining order to protect the victim.
