Homeless man remand following Possession of Knife in Newport

A homeless man who was arrested in Newport yesterday (Thursday), has been remanded in custody following a short court appearance before magistrates in Newport this afternoon. and and will appear in court again next month (June). Pensioner Malcolm Swann, 70, of no fixed address was arrested following an incident as previously first reporters in Scarrotts Lane, at about 4.30pm. Swann faces two charges of threatening a person with a blade or a sharp pointed article in a public place and using threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm, or distress. He will appear before the Isle of Wight Crown Court on 11th June. No application for bail was made.
