Man Busted in Pre-Notting Hill Carnival Firearms Blitz
Operation Mansion Targets Friary Park Estate Dealers
West Area Proactive Unit launched Operation Mansion to smash drug dealers holed up on the Friary Park Estate. The operation, coordinated with TSG and other West units, came after locals and community groups raised alarm over crime in the area.
On 21 August 2018, officers executed four warrants across the estate, striking hard at the criminal network.
Loaded Guns and Ammo Seized in Raid
The haul was staggering:
- Shortened side-by-side 12 Bore shotgun
- Bulk of 12 Bore shotgun cartridges
- Converted blank-firing pistol
- Glock-style pistol magazine with a 9mm cartridge
- Loaded Glock 19 pistol in 9mm calibre
- Four 9mm cartridges – at least three live
Cash and a large quantity of Class A drugs were also recovered during the swoop.
Five Arrested, One Charged with Firearms Offences
Five suspects were rounded up during the raid. On 24 August, a 20-year-old man faced four firearms charges. The other four were released under investigation but remain in the police spotlight.
