£10,000 Engagement Ring Snatched in Brazen Westminster Motorbike Robbery

Detectives hunt two men after a daring motorbike robbery in Westminster saw a £10,000 engagement ring ripped from a woman’s finger.

Victim Attacked on Moscow Road

At around 7.30pm on Saturday, 19 June, a 27-year-old woman was walking along Moscow Road, Westminster, when two men on a motorbike began tailing her. One rider jumped off the bike and followed her down St Petersburg Place, before violently grabbing her by the neck and demanding her engagement ring. He yanked the precious three-stone Blue Nile platinum diamond from her finger, then sped off towards Bayswater Road with his accomplice.

Second Snatch 25 Minutes Later in Kensington

Just 25 minutes later, police were called to Melbury Road, Kensington and Chelsea, after a similar robbery. Two men on a motorbike approached a 45-year-old woman. One man grabbed her from behind and ripped off her £200 watch, described as having a square silver and white face with a black strap and white stitching. The thieves fled north towards Holland Park.

Suspects and Stolen Items Described

  • The ring thief wore all black with a black crash helmet.
  • The motorbike driver, described as a black male, wore a white T-shirt, blue jeans, black crash helmet, and green trainers.

Officers have released images of the suspects and the stolen ring in a bid to trace the criminals.

Met Police Plea for Witnesses

“These men targeted and attacked two women to steal items with huge sentimental value. The victims are left deeply shaken,” said Detective Constable Dan Jones of the Westminster Serious Crime Unit.
