Three Hooded Yobs Jailed for Walthamstow Gang Murder
Two men and a teenage boy have been convicted of the brutal killing of 20-year-old Joseph Williams-Torres. The trio, part of a notorious Walthamstow gang, shot Joseph in the chest during a violent clash between rival gangs.
Gang Violence Ends in Tragedy
The Old Bailey found Hamza Ul-Haq, 21, from Burden Way, Loic Nengese, 19, from Arkley Road, and a 16-year-old Hackney teen guilty on Monday, 2 December. They were sentenced for the murder that shocked the local community.
Deadly Ambush in Essex Close
On the evening of 14 March 2018, Joseph was enjoying music with a friend inside a van in Essex Close, Walthamstow. At around 9.30pm, three hooded males appeared and started tugging at the van’s passenger door. As Joseph tried to shut it, one of the attackers pulled a gun and fired.
Joseph was hit in the chest and legs. Despite staggering out of the van, his injuries were too severe. Passersby rushed to help and dialled emergency services. London’s Air Ambulance arrived, but Joseph died within an hour.
Justice Served After Gang Turf War
The murder is linked to ongoing gang violence in the area, highlighting the deadly cost of turf wars on London’s streets. The conviction brings a grim chapter to a close but the battle against gang crime continues.
