Woman fighting for her life after being hit by a bus near Mile End Underground station

Police have closed Grove Road north from Mile End Road closed in both directions due to a very serious road traffic collision. A woman is fighting for her life after being hit by a bus on Grove Road near Mile End Underground station Emergency services remain at the scene after being called just 7.30pm on Thursday evening. Routes 277 323 339 425 D6 D7 are disrupted due to the emergency services having to block Grove Road between Mile End Road and  Roman Road. A spokesman for the Met Police said:   Police were called at approximately 7.30pm on Thursday, December 5 to reports of a bus in collision with a pedestrian in Grove Road. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the pedestrian, a woman aged in her 50s, was taken to an East London hospital for treatment.

She remains there in a critical condition. Road closures remain in place. No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances continue.
