Ramsgate Man Jailed for Sharing Intimate Images Without Consent
A Ramsgate man has been locked up for nearly two years after uploading private, intimate images of a woman to pornographic websites without her permission.
Tom Horwood Shared Private Pics Online
Tom Horwood, 33, snatched a series of private photos and a video from the victim’s computer and stored them on his own device. He then blasted them across multiple porn sites and social media platforms between June 2018 and early 2019.
Shockingly, the woman’s home address was added to one site, with explicit directions inviting strangers to visit for sex.
Arrest Unveils Even Darker Crimes
Horwood, from Woodville Road, was arrested on March 9, 2019. Police seized several devices, uncovering not just the private images but also three indecent images of a child on his computer.
He faced charges of stalking causing serious alarm or distress, plus making indecent images of a child.
Court Hands Down 22-Month Jail Term
At Maidstone Crown Court, Horwood pleaded guilty. On February 26, 2020, he was sentenced to 22 months behind bars and slapped with an indefinite restraining order.
PC Abbie Brookes of CID said: “Horwood’s callous actions have had a devastating and profound impact on the victim. She’s been left feeling humiliated, embarrassed, and isolated from friends – fearing strangers may have seen her private images online.”
“It’s crucial victims know they will be taken seriously and treated with respect. That’s why this custodial sentence is welcome.”
“Anyone thinking of coming forward will be met with compassion and discretion.”
