Police Hunt Cash Robber Who Targeted 71-Year-Old in Hackney

Police have released a photo of a suspect linked to a brazen robbery in Hackney.

Victim Pushed Over in Petrol Station Theft

Just after midnight on Monday, 5 October, a 71-year-old man was withdrawing cash at a petrol station on Stoke Newington Road. Suddenly, a man approached from behind, demanding £5.

When the elderly victim refused, the attacker shoved him to the ground, grabbed his cash and bank card, then fled north towards Stamford Hill on foot.

Thankfully, the victim escaped serious injury but was left shaken by the experience.

Detectives Appeal for Public Help

Detective Constable Farhang Razavi, Central East Command Unit, said: “This cowardly attack left the victim shocked and upset. We are doing everything we can to find the person responsible and urge any members of the public who can help our enquiries to make contact.”
