Drug Dealer Uses Teen Boys to Smuggle Cocaine and Heroin Inside Their Bodies
Omorie Nixon, 20, ran a dangerous drugs racket, forcing teenage boys to smuggle cocaine and heroin from London down to Devon. The teens hid the drugs inside their bodies, risking serious health problems just to supply the local drug scene.
Crackdown at Exeter Crown Court
On 28 January, Exeter Crown Court sentenced Nixon to 7 years and 9 months behind bars. But the story didn’t end there.
Sentence Upped to Over 10 Years
The Court of Appeal slammed the original sentence as too lenient. On 30 March, Nixon’s time inside was bumped up to a hefty 10 years and 9 months.
Attorney General Backs Harsher Sentence
“Nixon was part of a highly organised drugs operation which exploited young teenagers. The original sentence failed to take proper account of the seriousness of the offences and the harm drugs can do to people’s lives. I am pleased the Court has now seen fit to increase the prison term,” said the Rt Hon Michael Ellis QC MP, Attorney General.
