Armed police boost Windsor security amid national mourning
Windsor is on high alert as armed officers ramp up their presence during this solemn national period. With Windsor Castle a top Royal residence, the town is set to see a surge of visitors paying their respects.
Heavy police presence in Windsor town centre
Local businesses, residents, and visitors will spot extra police patrols both in the heart of town and surrounding areas. The move aims to reassure the public and maintain safety amid the expected crowds.
Officers ready to engage and assist
Police aren’t just patrolling — they’re actively engaging with the public, ready to answer questions and offer guidance during these sensitive days.
Inspector Matt Lugg, leading the patrol effort, said: “We are expecting an increase of people in Windsor over the coming days and so these patrols are all part of our measures to ensure public health and safety during this time of national mourning.
“We would remind people remain vigilant and if they have any concerns or questions to approach us.”
