Jaw-dropping footage has emerged of two hammer-wielding robbers smashing their way into a family-run jewellery shop in broad daylight, sending shockwaves through Richmond, west London.

Thugs Smash Jewellery Shop Window in Broad Daylight

On a bustling Saturday morning, two men clad in black stormed Gregory & Co., wielding a massive hammer. When the glass resisted, one thug tried tearing the pane free by hand before grabbing jewellery and stuffing it into a blue carrier bag.

Employees inside scrambled to protect valuables. One brave staff member even hurled a box at the masked raiders, but the pair fled down the street, leaving stunned shoppers frozen in fear.

“The two guys appeared out of nowhere carrying a large sledgehammer and a bag. They then started smashing the jewellers window up,” said a nearby shop employee who witnessed the shocking attack.

London’s Crime Wave Strikes Retailers Again

This brazen smash and grab is just the latest to rock the capital. Last month, a shopkeeper in Wembley fought off an arson threat. Another used a milk crate to fend off knife-wielding robbers. Daylight thefts worth thousands have become all too common.

Authorities are grappling with a nationwide surge in theft, forcing retailers to splash out on security upgrades and tech to protect their livelihoods.
