Three Dead and One Critically Injured in Horror M25 Crash
Tragedy struck on the M25 near Waltham Abbey as a crash involving a Ford Mondeo, a minibus, and a lorry left three people dead and a fourth fighting for life in hospital.
Fatal Smash Closes M25 Anti-Clockwise
Essex Police confirmed the collision happened just before 6.15pm between junction 26 and junction 27 near Waltham Abbey and the M11. The M25 remains closed anti-clockwise as emergency teams continue their work at the scene.
The East of England Ambulance Service said several people were treated following the pile-up. Officers warn the closure will last hours, causing major disruption.
Two Drivers Arrested Over Deadly Collision
A spokesperson for Essex Police said:
“We can now confirm three people have died, and a fourth remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries. We are working to inform their families and ask for respect during this difficult time. “Two drivers have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and serious injury by dangerous driving.” “We urge anyone with dash cam footage or information about the incident to come forward — especially concerning the movements of the Mondeo, minibus, and lorry involved.”

Detective Sergeant Steve Holmes, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, addressed the public:
“This evening has been incredibly challenging. We’re piecing together what led to this tragic crash. Our thoughts are with the victims’ families. “We thank everyone on the M25 for their patience. Highways England aims to reopen the road by 2am. Please stay safe and come forward with any information.”
