Dawn Raids Lead to Five Arrests Over Fat Cat Bar Violence

Nottinghamshire Police swooped on Leicestershire in a series of early morning raids last month. Their target? A gang involved in violent disorder outside the Fat Cat bar on Chapel Bar, Nottingham.

The chaos erupted just after 1.45pm on 6 February 2022, ahead of the Nottingham Forest vs Leicester City FA Cup clash at the City Ground. Reports flew in of Leicester City fans hurling chairs and a table through the bar’s windows, leaving locals fearing for their safety.

Five Charged After Violent Disorder

After trawling through hours of CCTV and social media, police executed multiple warrants across Leicestershire. Four men were nailed in last month’s raids, followed by a fifth arrest on Monday 14 March.

The five charged with violent disorder are:

  • Tyrone Smith, 37, Central Road, Leicester
  • Craig Jones, 23, Arden Avenue, Leicester
  • Przemyslaw Danik, 41, Rutland Street, Leicester
  • Neil Munden, 53, Winforde Crescent, Leicester
  • Craig Flint, 40, Silver Street, Whitwick, Leicestershire

Munden is on bail for Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 7 April. The others are on conditional bail, next appearing at Nottingham Crown Court on 4 April.

Police Vow to Crack Down on Football Violence

“While most fans were well behaved, a small number wanted to cause harm. This will not be tolerated,” said Detective Sergeant Jon Kerry of Nottinghamshire Police.

“Charging five suspects is the result of hard work across multiple departments analysing CCTV and mobile footage. The investigation is ongoing and we urge anyone involved to hand themselves in.”

Police are calling on witnesses with CCTV, dash-cam, or mobile footage to help. Contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 182 of 6 February 2022, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
