£20,000 Reward for Clues in Alex’s Shocking South London Murder

The Met Police have launched a huge £20,000 reward for information that leads to the capture and conviction of those behind the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Alex in Leyton.

Tragedy Strikes After Unlicensed Music Event

Alex, a south London local, was gunned down in the early hours of Wednesday, September 1, 2021. The shooting happened at 1:25am on the Beaumont Estate, Leyton, E10, shortly after an unlicensed music event.

Detectives believe Alex was sitting with a small group on a bench after most had left the event when gunfire shattered the night.

Stolen Kia Sportage Linked to Murder

The vehicle believed to be involved is a black Kia Sportage stolen from Chingford near midnight on August 16. It was later found abandoned and burnt out in Walthamstow, E17, on September 3.

CCTV footage of the Kia cruising near Beaumont Estate just before the shooting’s timeline has been released, with officers desperate for anyone who saw it in the days before or after.

“We believe the car has connections to Leyton, Walthamstow, and Upper Clapton,” said Detective Sergeant Fenton Davis from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command. “Alex’s life was brutally taken at just 18. His family are shattered and deserve answers.”

“There are people out there with vital info on who’s responsible, and knowledge about the stolen Kia. We urge you to come forward.”
