Man Dies After Assault at Maidstone Pub
A 47-year-old man has died in hospital following an assault at a Maidstone pub.
Incident at Hare and Hounds on Boxley Road
On Saturday 20 August 2022, just after 8.35pm, Kent Police and ambulance crews rushed to the Hare and Hounds on Lower Boxley Road in Maidstone. Andrew Loosley was seriously injured in the altercation and was taken to a London hospital for treatment.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
By Monday 22 August, police had detained an 18-year-old suspect, John Gibbs from Nickley Wood, Ashford. He was charged on Wednesday 24 August with inflicting grievous bodily harm. Gibbs appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court and was remanded to face Maidstone Crown Court on 21 September.
Appeal for Witnesses
Sadly, Mr Loosley was pronounced dead on Wednesday 24 August at the hospital. Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the assault or has any information to come forward.
