Teen Stabbed to Death Outside Party in Shocking Guildford Murder
Kyle Wright, 17, was brutally stabbed to death on the street after a party on 27 May 2022. The killer, 18-year-old Jonathan Cox, was confronted Kyle before launching the fatal attack.
Guilty Verdict Delivered After Gruelling Trial
After a 14-day trial at Guildford Crown Court, the jury returned a unanimous verdict today (12 December), finding Cox guilty of murder. Sentencing is set for Thursday, 15 December.

“Our thoughts are with Kyle’s family and friends following the tragic and senseless death of a teenager with his whole life ahead of him,” said Detective Chief Inspector Simon Dunn from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team.
“Our dedicated team sifted through hours of CCTV, gathered witness accounts despite difficult circumstances, and analysed mobile phones to uncover the evidence that secured this conviction.”
