Knife Attack Near Nottingham College Sends Teen to Hospital
Emergency services rushed to Canal Street, Nottingham, just after 11.30am on Thursday, 2 February 2023, following reports of a violent scuffle involving youths near Nottingham College.
16-Year-Old Victim Injured, Two Others Hurt
A 16-year-old boy suffered a knife wound and was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre. Luckily, he has since been released. Two other men received minor injuries and were also hospitalised.
Two Charged as Police Probe Continues
Detectives have charged Ayo Ajayi, 18, from The Meadows, and a 17-year-old boy (identity protected) with affray and possession of a bladed weapon. They are set to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court on Saturday, 4 February 2023.
A third 16-year-old suspect remains in custody on suspicion of affray.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Sergeant Steve Dalby of Nottinghamshire Police said: “Preventing knife crime and violence is our absolute priority. While two people have been charged, our investigation is ongoing.”
