Harlington Shooting Horror: Mohamed Muhyidin Gunned Down in Car

The jury at Isleworth Crown Court heard chilling details of the fatal shooting of 28-year-old Mohamed Muhyidin. He was blasted in the early hours of Sunday, 31 October 2021, while sitting in the front passenger seat of a parked car outside a flat on High Street, Harlington.

After the shooting, his body was dumped by the roadside in Sipson Lane, Harlington, where it was discovered by a passing taxi driver.

Deadly Gunfire Outside Harlington Flat

The tragic events began late on Saturday, 30 October, unfolding into the early hours outside a block of flats known to be a drug den. The flat served as a base for drug dealing, where Mohamed was joined by Chiragh Chiragh, Mohammed Shakeel, and a 17-year-old boy.

Around 04:45 am, Chiragh, armed with a submachine gun, left the flat and got into the car with Mohamed. As he stepped out, the gun accidentally discharged, fatally shooting Mohamed in the seat in front of him. The silencer fell off, and Chiragh reportedly fired the weapon multiple times afterward.

Chiragh then drove the car to Sipson Lane and callously dumped Mohamed’s lifeless body by the roadside.

Phone Records and CCTV Nab the Guilty

Police pieced together the timeline using mobile phone data and CCTV footage, which placed the suspects at the scene before and after the shooting. This evidence led to all being charged related to the murder and cover-up.

  • Chiragh Chiragh, 39, of Harrow, was found guilty of manslaughter and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He had already admitted to possessing prohibited weapons and perverting the course of justice. He was sentenced on February 10 to 25 years—20 behind bars, plus five years on licence. He must serve two-thirds before parole.
  • Mohammed Shakeel, 29, of Barking, was convicted of perverting the course of justice and pleaded guilty to possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear. He was locked up for five years and four months.
  • The 17-year-old boy pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice and received a two-year youth rehabilitation order.

Detective’s Warning: “All Faced Justice”

Detective Inspector Lucy Carberry from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said: “Chiragh may not have intended to harm Mohamed Muhiyidin, but it is clear that he, and his associates, were intent on harming someone that day.

“Chiragh was armed with a lethal weapon and Shakeel with an imitation firearm prior to Mohamed’s death, which was captured on CCTV.

“After the shooting, they colluded and conspired to cover up what had happened.

“All played their part in this tragic story and all have quite rightly been made to face the consequences of their actions.”
