Brutal Pole Attack in Lewisham: Victim Left Fighting for Life
Just before 7:25am last Saturday, a man in his 20s was savagely assaulted after stepping off a bus in Rushey Green, SE6. An unknown attacker crept up from behind and repeatedly smashed him over the head with a metal pole.
After the brutal attack, the suspect snatched the victim’s bag and casually caught a Route 185 bus heading to Victoria.
Victim Suffers Serious Brain Injury
The victim was rushed to a south London hospital where a CT scan revealed a brain bleed. His injuries were initially life-threatening. Thankfully, he has since been discharged from hospital.
Police Urge Public to Help Identify Suspect
Detectives have now released a clear image of a man they want to question over the vicious robbery.
Detective Sergeant Laura Warden, South East Robbery Squad, said: “This was an extremely violent robbery that left the victim fighting for his life. We are determined to bring the person responsible to justice.”
“We’ve released a clear image of a man we want to speak to. If you recognise him or know who he is, please come forward immediately.”
